Kasumi has given birth to her first foal!

Paul Leach and his team are working hard foaling.  Fonthill Stud bred stakes winning mare Kasumi gave birth to her first foal on 12th February 2012. A well made Pastoral Pursuits bay colt for her owner Fiona Trenchard.

Fonthill House Garden Opening 25th March 2pm

Fonthill House is opening up their gardens to the public on Sunday 25th March 2012 in aid of the National Gardens Scheme. The gates will open at 2pm and will remain open until 6pm.  The prices are £6 per adult (unless there’s a car with 3 or more people in it in which case it will cost £12) and children go free.  Dogs are permitted if on leads.  There will be refreshments of…

Congratulations to Dunaden and all his connections

Dunaden follows up his thrilling Melbourne Cup victory with a devastating turn of foot to win The 2012 Group 1 Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin.  Nicobar, his sire, was bred by Fonthill Stud and is a half sister to Maria Theresa, their 3rd dam is the Fonthill Stud owned and bred dual Oaks Winner Juliette Marny.  Maria Theresa’s Group 3 winning son Intrepid Jack is soon to join Nicobar…

Wiltshire Scullers School

On Saturday 10th July 2011 sixteen rowers from a relatively new club, called The Wiltshire Scullers School,  came to brave the Fonthill Lake waters.  Ten of these members were beginners who had an opportunity to row for the first time whilst being coached by some of the more experienced juniors.  Luckily they all managed to stay afloat and some have even signed up for full membership!  They all said they had brilliant…

Charity Clay Shoot & Working Gun Dog Test

 The Fonthill Charity Clay Shoot and Working Fun Gundog Test was held in Fonthill Park on Saturday 9th April.  Our thanks go to Skinners Dog Food who sponsored the Gundog tests and to all the other sponsors who so generously supported the day.  We had a magnificent day with beautfully sunny weather and managed to attract many people resulting in a sum of £6,306.00 being raised for Cancer Research UK…

Filming at Fonthill

Paul Leach and his team have now finished foaling. Every single foal is chestnut! The yearlings are blossoming on the spring grass.  They are getting prepared for inspection by Tattersalls, the Newmarket based horse auctioneers, to decide which yearling sales they should go to in the autumn. All the mares except one are in foal at the moment and mostly due quite early next year.
