| Fonthill Stud |
Fonthill Stud consists of 80 acres of prime grazing in a picturesque setting in Wiltshire. In recent years the stud has bred Group and Listed winners in England and Europe with particular success in Italy. Every season since 1998 Fonthill bred horses have won races almost all on the turf.
Nicobar(Indian Ridge x Duchess of Alba) won listed and 2 group 2 races and now stands at stud in France and having ended his racing career in France. Shes so Lovely (distant relative of x Sequin Lady) won 3 listed races in Italy with £100,000 in prize money.
Fonthill Stud also breaks in horses (mostly yearlings) and takes in horses for rest and recovery after injury or operations. The stud is currently home to ten brood mares belonging to Lord Margadale and a mixture of clients for breeding to race and for sales.
Fonthill stud extends to sixteen well sheltered paddocks varying from greensand to a mixture of clay and chalk and are supplied by three different sources of spring water. There is a permanent staff of three and two part time. |
